Black Roses at my Funeral

Hi everyone,

My cousin wrote this poem and I love giving him the attention he deserves, so I will shamelessly promote him. Please read this poem and if you like it, be sure to buy his book, “In Her Eyes” by Pranav Alvakonda. The book is a collection of poems he wrote, and I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do.

Black Roses at my Funeral

In a black dress, black rose in your cozy-curly hair,

Bring the black roses to my funeral,

Don’t mourn at my woody coffin,

But motion your smiles at my webby casket,

Don’t hear to the eulogies,

But listen to my poetries.

Cuddle up the black roses near to your heart,

Mumble “I hate you” having my vision on your brain, Avoid the tears, smile like a queen

Destroy the weeds, glow like a Greece,

Kiss the little puppy behind you

Hug the book, I written for you,

Shatter all the black roses on my body, at the time of burial:

with your smiles

Pranav
