Varenya Alvakonda
Hi everyone :) I'm Varenya, one of the founders of GenZindagi. Going on two years strong, GenZ has always been an outlet for me to show my love for giving back to the community. I currently go to Rutgers University and I'm majoring in Mathematics but hope to one day go to law school and become a lawyer. Thank you all for supporting us!
About Us
We're a group of New Jersey teens who happened to get closer because of the pandemic-induced school closures. Instead of spending all 24 hours of a day watching Netflix, we wanted to dedicate at least a few minutes to actually making a difference. A few college kids might not be enough to change the fate of the world, but it's a damn good start. We hope to motivate our friends and peers to speak up as well and encourage a community-wide conversation about the issues that we highlight and be more educated about different perspectives beyond our suburban Indian bubbles.
Shreya Gadikota
HI HI HI! My name is Shreya and I'm one of three founders for GenZindagi. GenZ lets me express myself and all the issues that I want to address going on in this world. I'm so glad that we have found a great team that supports us and can help expand our team and the causes we want to fight for. I'm currently a freshman at the University of Florida and hope to one day be a doctor :) Thank you for the endless support!

Sriya Guduru
Hey! My name is Sriya and I'm one of the founders of GenZindagi alongside Shreya and Varenya. We started GenZ because we felt helpless during the pandemic, seeing people all across the world struggle for basic necessities and just for their freedom. I currently attend Georgetown University as a freshman and I love everything to do with law, politics, and just reaching out to the world. I can't wait for you all to be a part of this community!

Hamzah Ashraf: Managing Editor
Hi there, my name is Hamzah Ashraf, and I'm the Managing Editor for GenZindagi. I'm a new member of the team, but I've always wanted to be involved in something similar to GenZ and give back to those in need, especially during the pandemic. I'm currently a freshman at Rutgers University and in my free time I'm always playing Smash with Yash.
Isha Patel: Graphics Editor
Hi! My name is Isha and I'm the graphics editor for GenZindagi. Having been on the team for two years, I love the experience it's given me with the real world, whether it's reaching out to different communities or just bonding with people. I'm also attending Rutgers University (fun fact: Varenya and I are roommates) , hoping to pursue a career in STEM.
Yash Yaragarla: Outreach Manager
Hello hello, my name is Yash and I'm the Outreach Manager here at GenZ. GenZ appealed to me because it's unlike any other organization. Rather than run by adults who are unwilling to change, it's led by a community of teenagers that are a part of Generation Z, that bring everyone together. I'm also in my first year at Rutgers University and in my free time I like to play smash with Hamzah.
Tarun Krishnan: Fundraising Manager
Hi! My name is Tarun Krishnan, and I’m a student at Rutgers University. I’m currently pursuing a degree in biology with the hope of becoming a doctor in the future. Some things I enjoy are photography, listening to music, and watching shows on Netflix. I joined GenZ to spread awareness about both prominent and overlooked issues in society and to help solve them in any way I can.
