"Money" - Nishi Patel

The first time I saw any type of graffiti was when I was around six years old. An old storage truck covered with colorful designs and lettering passed by our car. Ever since that day, I have been in love with the art form. Graffiti is a form of art that has no definition. You can literally draw whatever the heck you want, wherever the heck you want too. Graffiti can be filled with colors, or it can just be a solid, black word written on the side of a wall; it doesn't matter. Simply put, graffiti is fucking cool man. I was scrolling on Google one day trying to find inspiration for my next art project, and I came across this graffiti rendition of the word "money." I figured I could try to recreate the drawing instead of making an original like I normally do. The word money also stood out to me since the world essentially runs on it. Everyone is always out here trying to chase the bag. Unlike graffiti artists who could spray paint their artwork on in an hour or so, I took around three days to pencil draw the whole thing and then color it in with Sharpie markers. Even though it wasn't a true "graffiti experience" (I'm talking about the whole illegally vandalizing property part), it was pretty fun to recreate it. My parents definitely think that I'm gonna turn into a thug now though, so that's great.
